We were driving to Perth, it was sweltering hot and the air conditioning was broken! We were all getting cranky. I took my seatbelt off to get something cold from the esky then suddenly the car stopped…..I hit the windscreen! I woke up in a hospital bed, man my head hurt! “How did I get here?” I mumbled, “An ambulance was behind us and they took you straight here” said dad. The doctor told me that I was lucky to be alive and that I had a very bad concussion. I learnt a lesson that day always wear your seatbelt!

The charity I choose for big idea is Reach because they help young Australians who are falling behind in school or having troubles. Their aim is to help kids between 10-18 years old to believe in themselves, to be happy and to let them dream.

Reach is run by young people so it is easier to understand each other. Reach have been doing this for 20 years. Reach goes into schools and runs programs to help kids. Each year reach helps 60,000 kids around Australia in 600 different schools. Reach was founded by Jim Stynes and Paul Currie to emotionally support kids.

In this photo I am on top of mountain in the Grampians. I climbed 5.5 km to get there it was a rocky terrain. There were a few caves and crevices on the way. I was with my mum, dad, brother and some friends from my old school and their families. At the top of the mountain was really windy.  When I was up there I climb up close to the edge, this would have probably give my mum vertigo. I could see everything including the car park that we parked in. Halfway threw it started rain and the rocks became slippery.

In maths this week we have been doing percentages we have been cutting out items from magazines and finding the different percentages. I think I need to work on working with the higher numbers percentages.  I learnt how to find 10% of a number and then how to find the rest. I did well at finding 10%. I could take my learning further by practising division and multiplication.

In Writing workshop we have been doing description of setting were we have to discribe the setting using our senses. His is my example

I was walking on a beatiful beach,the water was crystal clear and the sand was as white as snow. There was a light breeze rippling the water and swaying the trees. The sky is clear .I can hear the waves meeting the sand,I want to stay at this moment forever.

Fred and his best friend are just finishing their cups of tea as they said bye to their mum’s as they got on the plane to South America, because they were going to canoe down the Amazon River to break the world record. It was going to be quite dangerous so they would each have walkie talkies and rifles to keep the crocodiles away. When they landed they got a cab to drive them down the highway to the canoe club it was monstrosity the door was hanging off its hinges and the windows were all bored up Fred was shocked Sam walked in and Fred followed they got the best double man canoe they  launched it onto the Amazon. The water was starting to shimmer as the sun rose. So Fred and Sam started to canoe down the river something started bumping the boat Sam started to get worried he had a fear of crocodiles Fred said to keep going they went past this run down house they pulled up there and had a snack this lady came out and asked why they were there they told her why then she said her name was madam Kelly just then a crocodile snapped their boat in half on no cried Sam what are we going to do now  I can fly you to the airport in my helicopter if you like ok said Sam and Fred.
